Survey Says

Officially I need your help. Here is my questions...is it okay to wear a white dress to a wedding or should the bride be the only one in white?!? I found a super cute white eyelet dress but am not sure it's okay to wear to a wedding. I need your votes...ASAP. Whatever the majority say by the end of the day that is what I will go with. Thanks.

I just wore a white eyelet dress to a wedding a few weeks ago. After doing my own little poll, it was unanimously confirmed that it's now ok to wear white. I did put a cute little shrug over it for some color.

i would totally do it, but that is the 1 rule that HASN'T changed, or so i have read. You can now wear black and red to weddings. But white is still a big no-no.

I have no idea if that rule has changed or not. But, my vote is wear it. I don't think people really pay attention to those rules anymore, right?!? like the no white after labor day thing...take the dress and run!!! :) What's the worse that can happen...some old lady thinks to herself "hmmm...poor girl doesn't know that she shouldn't wear white...shame!"

I am with no white too. In some movie, oh the mother in law or something she complains about her future mother in law wearing white on her wedding day.

I say go for it, it's not easy to find a cute dress to wear to weddings. I just went to a wedding on saturday and some lady had on a white outfit... i only noticed because the texture was really weird... only when i read your post did i even think twice about her outfit being white... so i would say it's totally cool. and if you are feeling unsure put a light colored wrap or cardigan over it at least for the ceremony.

p.s. i love your blog... it's been a good source of online procrastination for me :-)

i think it might be okay, but i would'nt do it. a white skirt okay, no dress thought. would you have cared?

Well I'm late on this so my thought may not matter but I'd base it on w/r you think the bride would care. Some brides would notice and may be made & others may not even notice. I agree that a shawl or something with color would be nice and by the time you take that off when the dancing starts I doubt anyone will notice!
Have fun at the wedding!
