We always had an advent calendar growing up and it was on of my favorite traditions. I would love to make one and probably will after the holidays so I have it for next year. But in case I don't make it I will get a handmade one from etsy or an after Christmas sale. Here are the favorites.
Wooden advent calendar with boxes for each day by ScrapColors
Row of Mini mittens from Pearl and Pirate
From Pottery Barn kids this beautiful little house.
This is the kind I would like to make if I have to time. Each pocket holds an ornament that you get out and place on the button covered tree. I love it. Oh and it's felt my new favorite fabric.

I got this advent calendar last year and its great. Every day holds a different figure to place in the middle on the manger. Its fun to guess what the next day will bring and gets everyone excited for Jesus' arrival.

You and James are still in my thoughts and prayers.
I love the first one especially. I did a cheesy one this year w/ the kids. I found coloring pages online that had a verse on it for each day. I printed them out and the kids and I have been coloring one or two a day. I then hung them up on a line in our basement. Perhaps I'll take a picture of it when we're done.
I love the last one so much I may buy one! and all of your other fun finds! thanks for sharing!
Merry Christmas to you!
So where did you find the last one, the button tree? Pottery Barn also?
I'll second your love of felt! I've been working on some "penny" ornaments - but the blanket stitch has been tough for me to figure out. but it's been fun, finding old wool sweaters and felting them. Crafting can be so much fun!
I was wondering the same thing about the last advent calendar...where did you get it?! I have tried a few different google options to locate it, but haven't yet stumbled upon its gloriousness. Can you solve the mystery?
