I am a huge fan of Ok Go. Ever since the first video for "Here it goes again" I have enjoyed their creativity when it comes to videos. Their latest "This too shall pass" is not only a great song but BOTH the videos for it are SOOO creative. They makes me smile. I've been watching them over and over on Youtube and trying to decide which one I love more. Just in time for Christmas my computer died...completely. Nothing could be saved. Thankfully I have the greatest parents ever and they bought me a new laptop for my birthday/Christmas. I like finding new ways to hang pictures. Sometimes you just can't find the perfect frame. Enter Plywerk. Send then your image and they print it on Fuji and Kodak silver-halide papers. Then using transparent PH neutral adhesive the mount it on on either a maple or bambo panel with a keyhole in the back for hanging. Make sense. Here are some pics to explain what I am not explaining well. And you can get the panels blank and do your own photo mounting.

The last 2 days have been gloriously warm but I know that's just to fool me into relaxing and then when the cold comes it will be even more shocking. I am not fooled mother nature! Recycled glass, stemless wine glasses. I love how thick these glasses are. Wine glasses usually make me nervous because I think I'm going to break them. I could use these every day.

Officially, one can never have too many cake stands. They are useful in so many way. Use them to create lovely centerpeices, display pretty items or for their traditional use. I like to use them when I have dinner parties to add height and visual interest to the table. This one is so pretty.

Today's post is for the Gentleman in your life. Gent Supply Co is a great site to find the perfect gift for the men we love. But the more you look at the site the more you will find things you would like for yourself. Of course, today I'm having a hard time getting pictures on my blog. But trust me this site is not one to skip over. The only picture I could get to work was a screen shot but it even shows a cool item the handcrafted wooden Iphone covers. I think that's so amazing. Whenever there are 5 phones on a table it would be great to easily find yours because of the super cool wooden cover!

In the Gadgets section there are a few items I want like the Sanctuary (a charging box for all your electronics) or the Nava laptop stand (since I always use my laptop and it tends to get a little warm) and in the Living section under cooking they sell my favorite grocery list of all time. It's the All Out Of list and I have one on my fridge and it makes me so much more organized when I head to the grocery store. Definitely go check this site out.

I found a new place I absolutely want to visit the next time I'm in New York. Located at 230 5th Avenue suite #510 SecondHand Rose carries the world's largest collection of antique wallpapers. I would love to see these papers in person. They also carry antique linoleum, furniture, glassware and pre-electric lights. Amazing. I could spend hours in this place.

Just so you know it is completely okay for me to start planning my costume for Halloween way in advance and to dream of what to wear. I never got to dress up growing up (ask my Mom why and she'll laugh!). So now I feel the need to way over compensate as an adult. Thought for Friday it might be fun to write a list of the things I am enjoying currently.

1. Pumpkin seeds. They make me feel like it's really fall and they smell so good when they are baking.

2. Getting all my scarves out. I like collecting them almost as much as shoes (expect to see many posts about scarves over the next few weeks).

3. My new boots. I look for any and all excuses to wear them. Skirts, jeans, dresses doesn't matter.

4. Glee. If you are not watching this show you MUST start. It is fabulous. I can't get enough!

5. Navy eyeliner. I use an angled brush and navy eyeshadow and smudge it.

6. Knee socks and patterned tights for under my boots.

7. Legwarmers. So I can pretend to wear boots when I'm not wearing them.

8. Daylight by Matt and Kim and 1901 by Phoenix and anything by She & Him.

9. Gold jewelry. I was always a silver girl but now I've really started to love gold.

10. Blue Moon. Any beer that requires and orange is alright in my book.

I know it is completely impractical but I like the look of all white rooms. Just a splash of color and they look amazing. Obviously, eating or drinking or living in these rooms might be a little difficult. But maybe an all white bedroom or office. Or maybe I could buy plastic bubbles for all my friends to wear when they come to visit.

Just a little orange and tan. It looks so clean and fresh.

There are many options for shades of white also. I like the gold around the windows. So good.

These white shelves make the plates and cups pop.

Decorating for fall is always fun. The color palette is amazing. Orange alone makes me crazy! Carving pumpkins is also one of my favorite things. I don't like making jack-o-lanterns but I like making designs and finding other ways to carve them. Martha Stewart (of course) has some amazing ideas.

Print out a letter and trace it onto the pumpkin then either carve out or cut part way through the pumpkin leaving the initial in the pumpkin. Lovely and classy.

For this simulated lace use woodworking tools and masking tape. Also cut the bottom out to get the seeds out leaving the top of the pumpkin whole.

Adorable little pumpkin village. Stack two pumpkins for two story houses.

Trace cookie cutters onto the pumpkins (stars, moons, clovers) and cut them out. The line your driveway, sidewalk or porch with them.
For indoor pumpkins cover them with a layer of mod podge (glue) and glitter. Love this idea so much!

One of my favorite parties I've thrown in the past years is a pumpkin carving party. Everyone comes with a pumpkin and you spend the evening cutting the pumpkins and cooking the seeds. It's fun to all do together and everyone can take a pumpkin home or leave them to decorate your house. Also a great time to break out the Octoberfest beers and hot apple cider! And who doesn't love a handful of salty pumpkin seeds?

If you asked someone what I was obsessed with they would probably say shoes. I am not denying it for a second. I have a need for shoes that goes way beyond my need for just about anything else. I get a little weak in the knees when I see the right pair. Good thing that doesn't continue when I try them on because the heels I tend to like are high and weak knees and stilettos are not a great combo.

I must say I am just as picky when it comes to men's shoes. I don't like most of the mens shoes out there. But I do like Tsubo's men's line. My favorites are.....

I am ready for fall weather. I love the cool evenings and the fact that I can wear jeans all the time. I think I need to add some yummy cardigans to my wardrobe and I will be all set.

Still obesessed with the look of wallpaper. I found some great "retro" inspired options on Twenty2 and wanted to share them with you. This site also has some great fabrics and grasscloth wallpaper. That way you can buy your wallpaper and a complimentary fabric for your curtians instead of running all over town trying to find curtians that match.

This one almost looks like the lattice is real. I like this for a smaller area or an accent wall.
Love this for a modern kitchen or bath.

I got to go to the Big Apple Sunday, Monday and came back today. It was a blast. Saw an old high school friend and we went and saw my most favorite band. Let me say they did not disappoint. Kings of Leon puts on a killer show!

Don't worry Mom (and Marmie) the car was not moving when I took this shot of 42nd street! By the way driving in Manhattan is my new favorite sport. It is such a rush.
My friend took me to Little Italy for St. San Genaro's. It was fun and so crowded. We ate at a great little restaurant on the street. Best food.

Had to take a picture of the Broadway sign. On the way into Manhattan it was raining confetti all along Broadway and 42nd. I didn't figure out why but I assume it was because they were happy I was visiting.

At the concert! They played every song I was hoping to hear. Did an amazing encore and just were the best. I would go see them again any time, any where!

The weather has been all but perfect the last few days. A little nip in the air at night, 80's during the day. I could live with this weather all the time. Love it. I have all the windows thrown open and the air is moving through the house.

So, this post may seem a little strange in light of my love of the current weather. I'm not saying I want it to rain but if I had one of these pretty umbrella's from Signature Bella I wouldn't be against the rain as much. They are so beautiful!

The style is Pagoda and are inspired by 1930's and 40's Art Deco. There are 5 colors and 6 handles you can choose from. Here are my favorite combos. I don't have any pictures of the lucite handle but it's pretty too.

I have been awful at blogging the last week or two. I know, I'm so sorry. I'm not sure if it's the last minute vacations, trying to wrap up a big project or the fact that fall arrived in the blink of an eye and I was completely unprepared (but happy none the less).

I love the changes in seasons. Fall, with it's bright leaves and FOOTBALL, is one of my most favorite times of year. I also love that it means time for sweaters, scarves and boots!

My boss found this great article and I wanted to share parts of it with you. I'm sad summer is over and vacations are ended. But here is a great idea if you are looking for a fall vacation. It's called a repositioning cruise and it's an 11 days or longer cruise while they reposition the boat from where it is no longer needed to the new hot spot. Cruise lines are trying to make these trips more enticing to travelers by offering stops at some pretty amazing place. Oh and did I mention they can be as cheap at $70 a day?! Norwegian Gem offers a cruise starting November 26th. They fly you to Barcelona then put you up for 2 nights at a deluxe Barcelona hotel till the board date. Stops include Cannes, livorne, Rome, Corsica and Malage for 6 days then on to the Straits of Gibralter. You then sail to New York City. 13 day cruise including 7 days at sea. Find it at Online Vacation Center. It costs $1,799 a person.

Or try this one on for size. It departs Sept 25th from Seattle. You stay in a four star hotel for 2 days before getting on the boat, the Celebrity Infinity (and upscale boat) and cruise for 16 days. Two nights at sea sailing to San Diego, a dat at sea, then a stop in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, a dat at sea, then Acapulco and Huatulco, Mexico, another day at sea then Puntarenas, Costa Rico, a dat at sea then a day going through Panama Canal then Cristobal, Panama; Cartagena, Columbia then two days at sea and end up in Fort Lauderdale. Confession time...I am not that great at the all-natural, organic thing. I recycle, I eat fruit and veggies but more often than not I still buy the regular produce. But I am trying. And if all organic, all natural products come in these super cute packages then I will switch today.

I have a bit of a beach addiction and have been feeding it regularly this summer. I had to share some of the photos of an amazing storm that rolled in behind us when we were at the beach but never quite hit the beach.

The lightning and thunder was amazing and a little scary.

Can you see the line right down the middle where the storm clouds and the fluffy white clouds meet up?

The sky over the ocean looked like that. I turn directly around and took a picture of the sky behind me.

Pretty great, right?

This was the bad boy that finally convinced us to leave the beach. He seemed a bit too close for me. The drive home was nuts. Torrential rain and giant puddles.

Before we know it fall will be upon us. So I think it's time to start planning lots of big Labor Day parties to celebrate the end of this lovely summer. I was visiting Hostess with the Mostess and she found a bunch of different wonderful melamine plates you can use for this picnic and any other picnics in the future.

Why not try a new drink recipe out, too. This one combines the delicate flavors of tangerine and lavender with the kick of tequila. The unique and slightly salty flavor of tequila really comes through. You can substitute rum for a slightly sweeter taste. (I would have to sub the rum because I like sweeter drinks)

Tequila Tangerine Dream

1 tangerine (1/2 for juice and 1/2 for tangerine slices)
2 sprigs fresh lavender
1 oz. simple syrup
2 oz. silver tequila
crushed ice
club soda

Peel the tangerine. Juice half of it and set the juice aside. Remove pith from the other half and cut into small pieces. Put tangerine at the bottom of a tall glass, then add the syrup, juice and some lavender petals. Muddle this mixture. Pour in tequila. Pack crushed ice on top of this and then top off with club soda. Garnish with lavendar or tangerine twists. (It’s prettier to leave the lavender petals in, but if you would be bothered by some getting in your mouth, strain them out)

How about following some of Ina Garten's recipes and making it a real gourmet party that everyone will be talking about. I think this would menu would make anyone's mouth water. And truly wouldn't be that hard to make.

I get to go to the beach again next week. This time with my family. I am so excited! One requirement for a good beach trip is a great beach bag. For me beach bags must meet some specific requirements. 1. They must be easy to clean. Mine is usually full of sand within the first 10 min on the beach and if I don't spill sunscreen on it at some point it's a miracle. 2. They must be foldable (is that even a word?) I need to be able to fold it up and stuff it in my suitcase. 3. They must be inexpensive for the above reasons. 4. They must be big so I can stuff sunscreen, a towel, snacks, water and a good book I them. I found a few good options all under $20.
