Hair cut

Okay...you asked for it. Here is the before and after of the new hair. You have to ignore the weird face I'm making in the after shot. Probably was still trying not to cry over the missing hair. I've adjusted...ish. It's just hair and will grow back.

By the way this is where I sit to blog and yes it is always messy. I have everything I need right here (Blistex lip medex, Brown Sugar and Fig hand lotion, my hot pink Ipod Nano, a coaster for my tea and pens) The wall in front of the computer is my inspiration wall and so I tack up pictures of things that make me want to make art or just make me smile. Notice the poor doll on the floor. My bulldog got it for Christmas and while I blog he rips more of it's stuffing out. Pretty pitiful looking.

Behind me is my mudroom to the left and the rest of my craft room to the right. The lamp has a bunch of felt animals that I made for mobiles waiting to be strung up.

Mod

With my new short hair, yes, I chopped off over 13 inches and donated it to Locks of Love in honor of my daughters birthday I feel like I need a new style. By the way if you have long hair you should consider doing Locks of Love at least once in your life. It's a sacrifice if you love your long hair but it is for kids who need hair peices and can't afford them. Remember how blessed you are that you can grow hair in the first place. Besides a new style is sort of fun (still adjusting to mine, but it's just hair). I think ModCloth is going to help me with my new style. Even if I don't end up getting stuff I know that my friend C.D.B. and my little sister B will love this store. Oh, and the prices are VERY reasonable!

I have yet to take the plunge and get a pencil skirt but I am obsessed. The bow makes this one a little less business and a little more fun.

It is almost that time of year...the dreaded bathing suit season! This is going to be my suit. No shopping around, no waiting till the last minute. I am getting this suit (in red) and then I will be done with that kind of shopping.

I love these shoes and I don't care what anyone says (not even you Carol!)

Pretty, pretty, pretty.

This would be the perfect gift for my brothers girlfriend, V. She has a bit of a vintage/Audrey obessesion that this would fill just perfectly.

Perpetual Kid

I love those magazines on planes that sell all sort of crazy things that I never realized I needed. I also love websites that are all things I don't need but would be fun to have. That's why I've spent way to much time on Perpetual Kid. These are a few of my favorite finds.

My husband would love this bottle opener magnet.
I'm looking for external speakers for my IPod nano and I like how cute this little AMP is.
The boys I nanny would love building crazy straws and trying to make sure they worked.

This great note pad goes on your fridge and you can check things off as you accomplish them. I love lists and this is right up my alley.

Pretty little glass half pint creamer.

In honor of my Dad's birthday (which is today...Happy birthday Daddy!!) these cool ice cubes that look like guitars.

Handmade goodness

Obviously I need to amp up my embroidery skills. Check on these amazing peices by Charlene Mullen whom I would like to meet and learn embroidery from. Let's be honest here, if I owned any of these pillows or blankets I would never let anyone touch them and would have a small panic attack if someone did try to lay on them. They are just to beautiful. (that would last a week and then I might calm down...hopefully)

Twinkle

I got my new InStyle magazine last week and have been slowly looking through it. They featured a skirt from Twinkle by Wenlan and I am so glad they did because I love this site.
This is the beautiful skirt that originally caught my eye and brought me to Twinkle. I love love love it and I don't anything this color in my wardrobe. Maybe it's time I did.

They have great throw pillows...
and elegant jewelry (and some wild and fun jewelry like the alligator necklace)

and beautiful rugs like this one.

Get Away

I've decided that I need a vacation. Not saying I'm going to get one but I think I need one. I always dream of wild adventures or staying somewhere crazy. The JumboHostel in Stockholm, Sweden seems to fit the bill. What a weird and wonderful place. I like the stories that would go along with having stayed in this hostel made from an old jumbo jet. Now notice I said nothing about romantic or luxury. This is the place I want to stay for a night or two just for the story. Don't expect "hostel" prices. This is more on pare with a nicer hotel.

From the outside

The lounge which can also be rented for the day for meetings.
3 person room (double bed and bunk above)
Most expensive room, the cockpit room.

Break

I'm taking a little break from blogging till next week....although I reserve all rights to post if I get inspired the next few days. Friday would have been my little girls 4th birthday and I am not really in the mood for being chipper and creative. So until next week.

Happy St. Patrick's Day

I love any excuse to dress silly and have a beer that is the wrong color and if you throw in a bagpipe it's almost perfect. So obviously St. Patrick's is a great holiday in my book. We will be heading to Molly's Pub for some Irish cheer tonight (and great food). We have been there the last 2 years and 4 out of the last 7 years. They always have an irish band and it's a great time.

I am getting so ready for spring. I stumbled upon Marais USA and I want all of their colorful shoes for my spring wardrobe.

This is a color I actually don't own.

Such a simple style and I love the little cut out.

I am such a fan of red shoes...I have a few pairs...but there is always room for one more. I just adore the line of these shoes.

Australia

I really like some of the art work from Australia based The Red Thread. All of it is on wood.
These are some of the favorites from the page.

Of course I have to pick the one with birds.

If you send a photo they do portrait painting of it. Pretty sweet.

I think this print is beautiful.

They also do peices that used pictures from old children's books.

I forgot to get one of the pictures of their greeting cards which are also on very thin pieces of wood. Happy Monday.

Grown up

Someday when I'm a grown-up I want this to hold all my jewelry and make up. It's tall and I probably couldn't fill it but I think it's beautiful.

Print, Pattern, Paper

Print, Pattern, Paper makes some of the cutest designs. It's funny because I keep forgetting to post about them but any time I see their stuff I think I have to share this immediatly. So before I forget again here are some of my favorites.

This set of notecards was the first thing I saw from their line and I fell instantly in love.

Adorable pillow case

I want this tote bag for my trips to market.

I have a thing for maps (you may remember) and I have a thing for really colorful art. Could this be anymore perfect? I would hang it in our attic bedroom or in the dining room over the couch (yes I have a couch in my dining room)

Shower Curtians

I am trying to answer questions people have posted for me. Someone asked for help finding a shower curtian to match a black and neutral bathroom. My first stop for home items is always Pottery Barn to get inspired. And look at the beauty I found on sale. I don't know how much black is in this bathroom but this would go great in a more neutral bathroom. And if you live near a Pottery Barn outlet (like the one we have here in Lancaster) you may find some other amazing options that aren't online anymore.

Next stop is Restoration Hardware which we also are lucky enough to have an outlet of. If you want to go really clean and simple this one would be a great pick

Next stop, Urban Outfitters who had these two great options (the first of which is on sale for $14.99)

Hope this at least gives you a few ideas, M.

Flower girl dress

Recently a friend asked for help finding a flower girl dress for her daughter that wouldn't break the bank. I found a few options and thought I would share because I have a feeling with summer approaching she won't be the only one looking for a flower girl dress.

This pretty dress is only $68 from Sweet Plume and they can make it custom in any color

This beautiful dress from Giraffikiki Kidz is only $46. Since it is custom made you could probably request it in other fabrics from their site

Ivy and May has this cute bubble dress for $62

This dress is creeping up there in price ($90) but is so beautiful I had to share it. Monitageorge does not do custom work so if you love this you have to get it in the size she has made which is a 5.

Then there is the tutu dress which there are a million sites for. I chose Boutique Sophia's because for $40 you choose the colors and it is custom made for your child. Also they seemed a bit more substantial than some of the others. Super girlie and cute.

When I am at my home computer I will look through my other websites and try to find some more options. Hope this helps for now.

Anthro Dresses

I am just going to continue with my Anthropologie obessed posts. Their new dress and skirts are killer. To me nothing says spring and warm weather like a pretty dress.

So feminine and sweet.
Simple and classy

Little sailor dress but with a pop of orange.

It's okay to wear vertical stripes if they look like this.

My girlfriends always laugh at me for wearing the same jean skirt over and over in the summer. I need to get this one to spice things up a bit.

Pencil skirts are so serious (which can be a good thing) but not this one. It's fun and flirty.
