Glass

I've mentioned before my minor, insignificant, slight obsession (for once I'm under exaggerating) with glass and the collecting of it. Check out Uncommon Goods. Their barware and glassware sections are great. I especially liked the Glass from the Past and the Protect our Earth Glasses. Both are made from recycled items (windshields and wine bottles). What a great idea.

Stuff

We all need stuff for our homes once in a while. Stuff that serves no other purpose than to look pretty. I found a great site for this stuff called Venucci Homewares

This is a beautiful placemat if I do say so myself. It comes in sets of 6 and 3 different colors to choose from.

Pretty little lamp. Bet it looks so cool when it's turned on in a room.

I do have a small glass addiction. I can't seem to resist bottles and they are everywhere in my house. These 2 would fit right in.

What a fun clock. Mod, detailed and not just a run of the mill clock. Love it.

Survey Says

Officially I need your help. Here is my questions...is it okay to wear a white dress to a wedding or should the bride be the only one in white?!? I found a super cute white eyelet dress but am not sure it's okay to wear to a wedding. I need your votes...ASAP. Whatever the majority say by the end of the day that is what I will go with. Thanks.

Pretty

I like jewelry (what women doesn't). I like a big chunky necklace or some delicate earings. I recently stumbled across By Boe which has fabulously simple jewelry.

Pretty, right?

I have always like silver better than gold. I'm not sure why or when that started but this would fill my silver quota for the day.

These make enough of a statement that I wouldn't need any other jewelry.

I'm always a sucker for red. With a black dress a little splash of red makes all the difference.

Wedding

I am going to a wedding this weekend (yea Ben and Jan). That means I need a dress. So I have been looking. Of course I still long for the dress from Shabby Apple but am not sure I'm going to get it for this particular wedding.

I really like this dress from Banana Rebuplic and since we have a store I could actually try it on and not pay shipping.

Also from BR I like this dress. What a great pattern.

Ann Taylor had this pretty dress.
I'm going to spend my week looking for something and I'll share all the ideas I find. Nothing like waiting till the last minute.

Cute

I like Etsy and spend quite a bit of time looking for new, cute finds. Today I stumbled across Michelle Brusegaard's cute stuff She does a little bit of this and a little bit of that. Screen printing, stationary and photography.

I really enjoy these screenprinted blue napkins (set of 4 for $25)

One can never have too many personalized notecards. These come in a set of 10 and are flat ($16.50)

Beautiful, beautiful stationary. I think snail mail is so much more fun that e-mail. And more personal because you have to sit and write it. This beautiful set includes 2 kinds of paper, envelope and stickers. ($23.00)

This one just made me laugh. Growing up Peaches and Cream was my favorite Barbie, and I had some Barbie's. I thought this photo was fun and cute. ($15.00)

Small or Medium

If you are a size small or medium (and I know I'm speaking to the masses...right?!) then have I got a site for you.

It's called Project Couture Vintage and it has the cutest clothes for great prices. For some reason everything is a small or medium. Since I'm an extra extra small (read with sarcasm) this site just makes me wish I was the right size.
Here are a few favorites.

Erin's answer

My friend Erin asked me to find some great sites for address books. I found a few.
First is Jenni Bick Bookbinding. They have quite a few options but these two were my favorites

>
Anthropologie has a cute one called the Orly Keily address book. Click Here
Crane and Co. has quite a few options also. Here again are my two favorites.

Finally, Aspinal of London

Makes me want to get a new one.

My one suggestion for organization of an address book is to always write at least the address in pencil. I write my entire entries in pencil and have found that it works so much better than pen. When your friends and family move you don't have to scribble out the old address.

Photo

In this age of digital photography everyone (and I mean everyone) is a "photographer". It's so much easier to take a great picture (just take 100 and delete the 99 that aren't good...keep one perfect one). So now we all have these cameras that are filled with photos and we forget to bring the memory card to the store to get them printed.

Here's one fun way to get them printed. Photojojo has some cool ideas. One is Photo*opoly. You customize a monopoly board with photos of the fam. Way more fun to play that normal monopoly.

Another cool idea is this DIY photo block. What a cool, creative way to display your favorite photo (this time you'll have to actually print it out yourself)

Second, Kodak has a great ways to make photobooks online. You pick the book, upload and arrange the photos and even add captions.
It's better than a photo album, especially for those who print their pictures but end up with them in a box.

Rugs

Pretty rugs by Madeline Weinrib Alterlier

Perfect for my dining room.

I need some longer hallways so I can use this one.
I don't know where I would put this one but I think I need it. Right?!

Isn't your head just trying to figure out where you need a new rug or could squeeze another rug?

Fun

If you live in Lancaster county then you are in for some fun. Starting the 14th and going to the 22nd it is Parade of Homes time. I don't know about you but I love Parade of Homes. I love seeing all the new things builders are doing. I love getting to go through houses I would never see otherwise. Mainly, I love that my husband loves it as much as me. We have such a blasts each year criticing, exploring and enjoying this activity. This year there are 54 homes. So we will probably get the book, map out the ones we want to see and spread it out over a week. Parade is weekdays from 5-8 and weekends from 12-6. I don't recommend the weekends. It can get a bit hairy with 100's of people trying to squeeze into houses. Try a weeknight instead. And pick up your guide book at any Fulton Bank.

Attic

Someday our attic will be a play room. Right now it is a second guest room. But I did a really bad job picking the color. I have some friends who have promised to help pick the right color. I'm just no good when it comes to picking oranges. Blue, green, yellow, red...I can pick the perfect shade first time. But not orange. Anyway...it's going to be a very eclectic room. The bedspread is the Bella Hothouse Bedding from Anthropologie. There is an old desk, some antique toys and now I need some art. I found these great prints on John Golden's etsy. Perfect for a layed-back fun room. Don't you think?

There are a ton of different animal options. I think they are so cute.

Retro-y goodness.

This one I just want because it's two little blue birds. Maybe in my bedroom or the navy bathroom.

Kitchen

I don't like my kitchen counters. We have the old laminate ones that the previous owners put in. I love my cabinets and my appliances. I really want to put in new ones and I'm leaning towards concrete. I think it looks so cool, it's cheaper than most counters and look at how great it looks.

A company called IceStone uses recycled glass bits to add a bit of sparkle to the counters.

Pretty, huh?!

Echo

Thought I'd share some cute handbags from Echo because let's face it a girl can never have to many handbags.

Hot pink is always a great accent color.

My favorite from this page.
Oh summer purses make me happy.

Clothes

In High School I got a catalogue for a company named Delia's. I love that catalogue and would make requests, with pictures, from in for Christmas and my birthday. The other day I stumbled across it again. And surprisingly I still like a lot of their stuff. Maybe they've changed because I remember them being a little more "punk". Regardless I wanted to share the link with you. So click here to visit their page. Their prices are very reasonable too, which is great.

Look at this great black and white dress.

I really like hoodies. I have quite a few and keep saying I need to stop buying them. But this one is so cute and stylish that I wouldn't feel as frumpy in it.

I actually liked this dress even more in white but you can see the detail a little better in the photo of it in black.

What a cute summer top.

They even had some suits I liked. This one came in 4 colors. I liked the black or the hot pink.

Shopping Bags

I like the idea of reusable shopping bags. I hate collecting millions of plastic bags under my sink (which is exactly where they are) but I always forget to bring the reusable bag with me. So here is a great one. It's from Baggu and it folds up nice and small so I can fit in my purse. That way no lugging huge bags with me, no massive collection of plastic bags and I'm being "green". All these colors to choose from. I want one of each!
See how tiny they are when they are folded up?!
